Spreadsheets run the world. Not because they're perfect. They break, they hide errors, they make you want to scream at 2am before a board meeting. But they work. They're flexible. They're yours.
We're a small team of ex-founders who've lived this. We've seen spreadsheets everywhere: tracking inventory, forecasting revenue, managing headcount, running entire operations. We've also seen them break at the worst possible moments.
We're not here to replace spreadsheets with AI magic nobody understands. No massive funding rounds, no growth-at-all-costs nonsense. Just a small team building tools that make spreadsheets less painful and more trustworthy, without ripping out what already works.
From ad hoc spreadsheets to reliable models
ModelMonkey is an AI assistant for Google Sheets and Excel. Describe what you want in plain English, and it handles the rest: formulas, formatting, charts, data cleanup.
Need to pull data from a database? Connect to PostgreSQL or BigQuery and query with natural language. No SQL required. Want to extract numbers from a PDF or research something on the web? Upload documents, search the web, read SEC filings. All from within your spreadsheet.
We built ModelMonkey because we got tired of the tedious parts of spreadsheet work: writing formulas, cleaning data, formatting cells, copying patterns. The AI handles the grunt work. You focus on the decisions that matter.
Careers
We're not hiring right now. We're a small team, and we want to keep it that way. At least until the time is right.
When we do hire, we'll be looking for people who've felt the pain of broken spreadsheets, who care about building software that actually works, and who don't need a ping pong table to be happy.
